Marian McCullagh of AOS HR and Training

In Business, Business of The Week, Business showcase

This week’s Business of the Week is AOS HR & Training founded by Marian McCullagh. Marian is a popular member of B4b who recently gave a fascinating online seminar to our members called “The Right to Detach”. Marian’s informative seminar looked at wellbeing and downtime when working from home and you can read a synopsis here: The Right to Detach

A New Beginning after Redundancy

Redundancy is a massive blow that can knock people off their feet. It’s especially hard to regain confidence after redundancy. However, when Marian McCullagh was made redundant in 2015, she used the opportunity to make big changes in her life.

Marian’s background was in Human Resources but she also had a Diploma in Learning and Development from UCC, and a Lifecoaching Diploma too. Marian decided to put her qualifications to good use in the field of training and coaching.

Her first client was delighted with her help and recommended her to others. Marian grew a reputation for excellence which spread through word-of-mouth and she soon had more clients. Some, knowing her HR background, asked for help on matters of human resources too and so Marian added HR to her offering.

AOS HR & Training was born

AOS now offers a complete HR Management service with cost-effective, customised HR and training solutions. They work mainly with SME’s and start-ups, from recruitment to exit interviews and everything in between.

They can provide HR documentation and advice on policies and procedures to ensure employer compliance including support with legal obligations relating to Safety, Health and Welfare at Work. Marian can also offer discreet and experienced onsite assistance for more complex employee issues.

Workplace Wellbeing

Being happy in your work is extremely important, not just for employee wellbeing, but also for the wellbeing of an organisation. Marian and AOS offer workplace wellbeing programmes tailored to the needs of the individual organisation or employee.

“If people are not happy in their job, they’re not going to give 100%”, explains Marian.
“When this happens, productivity decreases but there are easy fixes.
Coaching and Mentoring work wonders in these situations.”

Marian feels privileged to look after her clients because they trust her. When you have HR and Training backup that you can trust, then you can focus on what you’re best at – developing your own business and looking after your own customers.
