B4b AGM

 In Business showcase, Networking Events

In March we held our AGM which was a great opportunity to recap on what was a turbulent 2020.  That being said we still managed to deliver a significant body of work including 2 offline and 10 virtual network meetings as well as design and launch our ‘Buy Local, Support Local’ campaign.  In January we were up in Musgrave Market Place for our first meeting of the year and welcomed Des Ryan Action Coach to help us set our goals and objectives for the year. Then in March we were in the Rediscovery Centre to celebrate Local Enterprise Week and were delighted to have representatives from AIB talk to us about how businesses can start preparing for Brexit.  Then we had Covid-19 and lockdown which put an end to meeting in person.  However not to let the small matter of a pandemic outdo us,  we continued to provide networking opportunities on Zoom covering topics such as mindfulness, social media for business, Covid-19 business supports, the state of the economy, resilience in the workplace, nutrition and finance.  We also found the time to launch our own shop local campaign ‘Buy Local, Support Local which was launched in December and ran for 3 months.

At our AGM we were sad to say goodbye to our Vice Chairperson Brian Staunton, General Manager of Musgrave Market Place from our steering committee who was retiring.  Brian was a great supporter of B4b from day one and will be missed.  However we are delighted to welcome his colleagues Brian Keenan and Thomas Williams in his place. We also said goodbye to Annemarie Byrne Evergreen Training who was moving on to pastures new.  We welcomed 2 new additions to the steering committee; Babs Leonard Heartspace Meditation and Alexandra Wilson Aspen Student Life and we look forward to working with them over the coming years.

A special thanks to David Rooney for providing the illustrations of the AGM.  David n an expert in capturing minutes, conversations, discussions using visual aids.  You can find more information about David: https://www.facebook.com/Visual-Note-Taking-321154478521869/
