Programme of Events

Safer Ballymun, what is it?
Safer Ballymun is an action-based, problem-solving partnership between An Garda Síochána, Dublin City Council and the community to make Ballymun a better place to live, work and visit.
How does it work?
Public Meetings:
One of the most important aspects of the work of the Safer Ballymun forum is
facilitating the holding of regular public meetings. These meetings are open to all local residents and
are attended by senior Gardaí and Dublin City Council officials. At these meetings residents are provided with the opportunity to present their issues directly to senior officials and Gardaí. All issues are recorded. There will be follow up public meetings where there will be a report back on progress made towards resolving these issues.
Individual Contacts
Local residents are free to contact the Coordinator Leona Fynes directly for advice on an issue and
she can put them in contact with the community Garda directly or the appropriate Dublin City Council department or give whatever advice is appropriate to their issue.
How can people play their part in the Safer Ballymun Week?
Come to the meetings. The success of the public meetings depends on the active involvement of
the community. Anti-social behaviour and crime is something that affects us all.

If you want to be heard you have to be there
Your name can be put on the mailing list and you will receive notification of the upcoming meetings each time. Just contact Leona to be included in this.
