Business networking at the Metro

 In Local Events, Networking Events

Some good old fashioned networking was the order of the day as B4b hosted its first networking event of 2018 on Wednesday 31st January. By all accounts it was a great success.  Over 30 of our members came along to the newly refurbished Metro Hotel www.metrohoteldublinairport.com for an evening of networking, motivational talks and member pitches.

B4b member and networking champion Maureen Byrne of AIB set the tone for the evening with a poignant piece on the power of networking and how to do it effectively.  She set each member the task of swapping at least one business card and arranging to meet that person before our next meet-up.  We then heard from a number of our members who each did a brief pitch about their business.  The evening concluded with a motivational talk from Dublin footballer Shane Carthy who shared his insights on how the training and motivational techniques used for football help him succeed in his career. There was wonderful tapas & refreshments provided by the Metro Hotel throughout the evening.

Here’s what some of our members had to say:

B4B offers a really focused networking opportunity with local businesses who are really interested in helping each other. I’ve found being a member invaluable. At every meeting, I’ve met someone who helped me to further my business, someone I wanted to do business with or someone who wanted to do business with me. And the members are a great bunch of people, warm and friendly and just out to help each other. – Michelle, Digiyell

it was a great collaborative atmosphere for businesses to co-create business opportunities together. It was also an opportunity to network amongst ourselves developing professional business relationships. – Bassey Duke
