Liam is employed by Dublin City Council as Economic Development Officer for Ballymun. The job is unique for the Council insofar as it is the only Town or Village in Dublin City with a dedicated Economic Development Officer. Liam works closely with the Economic sub-committee of the Ballymun Town Civic Alliance to stimulate economic activity by identifying enterprise and employment opportunities for Ballymun. His job is to promote Ballymun as a place to do business and raise its profile by hosting business support events that encourages more start-ups and supports existing business in the area. He produced a 5 year economic plan which was adopted by the Economic sub-committee in 2015. Other area of responsibility include attracting expressions of interest on vacant commercial units in Ballymun. Being a member of B4b is hugely beneficial to Liam as he gets to hear first-hand the views and opinions of the business community which provides valuable input into the economic strategy for Ballymun

Liam is responsible for developing the North West Area’s economic and enterprise potential in order to sustain a growing population by identifying job opportunities and fostering an entrepreneurial culture. Liam is a founding member of B4b and sits on our steering committee as the economic representative for the area. He is also behind the Startup Ballymun initiative that aims to promote entrepreneurship and self-employment in Ballymun. Liam is also sits on the Council’s Ballymun Local Area Plan implementation team that has mission to drive economic and housing investment into Ballymun
