B4b reboots its network
Our members emerged from behind their screens to network in person for the first time in over two years in the Council Chamber, Ballymun. It was the first gathering of any kind for many of our members and there was a great sense of relief, excitement and trepidation as people got back into the swing of mingling in person again. The Rediscovery Centre’s ever ebullient Ed Coleman got the party started as he led the audience through some tips and tricks on how to reboot those networking skills by inviting everyone to give a brief pitch on their business. Pretty soon the room was abuzz with the din of people getting acquainted with old and new connections. While all this was going one everyone enjoyed some lovely food and refreshments supplied by Nan’s Super Valu, Ballymun.
Chairman Robert Murphy did a round-up of the year and presented the 2021 Annual Report. Despite it being another year of online meetings, B4b still managed to deliver 6 networking events including our Christmas shopping experience in Musgrave Market Place in December. In 2021 we were also delighted to welcome 10 new members. Other highlights from the year included the introduction of our ‘Business of the week’ blogs showcasing one of our members on a weekly basis and our ‘Women In Business’ campaign which shone a light on our excellent female entrepreneurs. In addition we also made financial contributions to the community soup kitchen, No Bucks Bus, invested in pitch-side advertising with Ballymun Kickhams and supported community initiatives such as the Ballymun Health & Fitness Festival.
Robert updated the group with our plans for 2022 which include a business exhibition to celebrate our 5th birthday in June. Details of this will be shared over the coming weeks.
The meeting was followed by our AGM and once again we were delighted to reelect Robert Murphy as chairperson, Joanne Gallagher AIB as vice chairperson, Shane Callanan Dublin Northwest partnership as secretary and Eoin Murray as Treasurer. You can find the Annual Report 2021 in the knowledge centre on this website.
We would like to express our utmost thanks and gratitude to our sponsors Dublin City Council, AIB and Dublin Northwest partnership
