B4b Christmas networking event

B4b celebrated another successful year with it’s final network meeting in the unique surroundings of the Rediscovery Centre.  Roger Warburton of the RDC hosted the event.  Despite the inclement weather many of our members turned up to be treated to some wonderful food from Musgrave Market Place, mulled wine from Super Valu and some lovely music from local orchestra, Setanta Strings

Chairman Robert Murphy kicked proceedings off with a quick review of 2017 and upon reflection it really has been a year that has seen the network go from strength to strength.  Some of the main points Robert highlighted were:

  • Membership grew from 27 in 2016 to 60+ 2017
  • Secured funding from AIB, DNWAP & DCC
  • Hosted a number of networking events with topical themes such as;
    • Launch of B4b
    • New interactive website
    • Social Media for business
    • Mindfulness approach for business
    • Online trading vouchers for small business
    • Year-end taxation for sole traders
    • Participation in Enterprising Towns Awards

B4b was also delighted to support a number of worthwhile community initiatives including:

  • Poppintree Park Run
  • No Bucks Bus
  • Ballymun Coderdojo
  • Ballymun Tidy Towns
  • Ballymun Choral Society

Vice Chairman Brian Staunton of Musgrave Marketplace then said a few words about B4b’s plans for next year that will include more exciting business networking opportunities to help promote your business.

The main piece of the evening was a pep talk on the benefits of business networking.  We were delighted to welcome Padraic Brennan Head of Business Development , Bank of Ireland to talk with our members on how to network effectively. Padraic extolled the virtues of Linked and its power to reach a wider audience.  He encouraged members to attend events further afield and in order to use your time efficiently,  target specific attendees that you wish to meet.

Everybody walked away with some very useful nuggets of information.  If you have a business in the locality and are interested in gaining business referrals, participating at SME events or just sharing industry insights with your peers then please get in touch with info@b4b.ie to find out more.

Merry Christmas!
